Acquisitive residential developer Swan Homes has added three prestigious property deals to an expanding portfolio in just a week, with two acquisitions in London and a third in South Yorkshire.

A high profile site in Chelsea was viewed and acquired within less than one week. The development site has planning for a single house which is scheduled for completion in Summer 2018. The company has been quietly expanding operations in the Capital with a view to acquiring additional high net worth sites that complement their aspirations at the top end of the market.

Commenting, Tariq Shah, Director said:

“We work with property professionals who bring opportunities to our notice. They know that we are agile, well capitalised and able to move very quickly. Our legal team headed by Simon Harris of Eversheds, pulled out the stops to guarantee completion of the acquisition within a few days”.

Simultaneously, Swan acquired a prominent West London development site for a further 25 homes close to a new Elizabeth Line Crossrail station. 17 minutes from Mayfair and 24 minutes from the City, this quality modern development will provide much-needed homes with easy access to the UK’s commercial centre.

During the week planning permission was obtained for another London-based Swan development. ‘The Hestercombes’ occupies a prime Fulham location and will convert to four luxury residential apartments just off Fulham Road. This well-located site has been long ignored and in a dangerous state of repair. The new apartment complex is designed to provide apartment homes for young professionals in an area where prices for traditional houses are normally out of reach.

Architect Giles Hoeg, of Jo Cowen Architects, has worked closely with Swan Homes on the project:

“As local architects we have worked on a number of major improvements within the area and had long identified this site as a blight. Swan Homes shares our passion to improve the site and the area around it with high quality design and detailing. They encouraged us to make use of the highest quality materials and to help them ensure that this building will stand the test of time.”

The third major acquisition in a busy week saw Swan Homes acquire a five acre site for the development of 120 residential units close to their Doncaster head office. The development will provide a selection of family homes in a village setting.
